Students are referred to Green Brook Academy by the Department of Special Services/Child Study Team in their home school district.

As part of the referral process, the district provides Green Brook Academy with the student’s current IEP, evaluations, and other relevant educational and clinical information. Our administrative and intake team carefully reviews these records to learn more about the student and determine whether our program may be able to meet their individual needs.

Following our review of the referral information, the next step may include a personal interview with the student, parent/guardian, and Child Study Team member(s). This meeting provides an opportunity for us to learn more about the student’s individual strengths, needs, and educational goals, while also allowing the student and family to learn more about Green Brook Academy and our program.

Following the review of the student’s records and the personal interview, the team will determine whether Green Brook Academy can appropriately meet the student’s educational, social-emotional, and behavioral needs.

All student and family information is treated with the utmost confidentiality, and the privacy and dignity of every student and family are respected throughout the referral and admissions process.
