For Child Study Team Representatives

 

Green Brook Academy is an approved private school for students with disabilities and is accredited by the New Jersey Department of Education. 

We work with students classified with the one or more of the following classifications:

  • Emotion Regulation Impairment (ERI) (formerly Emotional Disturbance ED)
  • Other Health Impairment (OHI)
  • Specific Learning Disability (SLD)
  • Multiple Disabilities (MD)
  • Social Maladjustment
  • Intellectually Disabled (Mild)

Each students education is governed by their Individualized Education Plan (IEP), which is provided by each student’s home district Child Study Team.

Green Brook Academy adheres to the requirements put forth in our students’ IEP, as agreed upon during yearly meetings with the student, their family, the district Child Study Team, and any other legal, educational, or social entities the student or family wishes to be involved.

Green Brook Academy will provide Speech/Language services as determined by their IEP.

Green Brook Academy is a member of the ASAH Organization as well as The Alliance of Private Special Education Schools of NJ.

Green Brook Academy staff are certified to provide special education instruction, therapeutic services, and transition planning.

Green Brook Academy works with Case Managers (School Psychologists, Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultants (LDT-C), School Social Workers) from public school districts throughout the state of New Jersey to accommodate students with behavioral and emotional difficulties in need of an out-of-district placement.
