Individualized Instruction designed to meet each student’s unique needs, strengths, abilities, interests, and IEP goals.
Small Class Sizes & Individualized Support provided by highly qualified New Jersey Department of Education-certified teachers and paraprofessionals. Our program maintains a strong staff-to-student ratio, averaging approximately one staff member for every two students.
Block Scheduling that allows students more time to engage in instruction, complete meaningful learning activities, and benefit from movement and transitions throughout the school day.
Educational Assessment & Progress Monitoring to help identify student skill levels, strengths, and areas of need so instruction can be appropriately individualized.
Driver Education instruction that prepares eligible students for the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission knowledge examination, which is administered upon successful completion of the course.
World Language Online Learning through APEX Learning. Courses are overseen by certified teachers and selected based upon each student’s individual needs and IEP requirements.
Real World Communication for Transition Success supports high school students in developing practical communication and writing skills needed for life beyond high school. Students participate in real-world activities involving resumes, applications, emails, goal setting, workplace communication, and self-advocacy, with an emphasis on building confidence and independence.
Cycle Courses provide students with opportunities to explore interests, strengthen social-emotional skills, develop practical life skills, and connect learning to real-world experiences. Current offerings include Connections & Community, which incorporates community service, relationship-building, and personal responsibility, and The World Around Us, which incorporates current events, news literacy, and greater awareness of the world beyond the classroom. During our Extended School Year (ESY) program, additional cycle courses include Workplace Readiness and Building Resilience.
Green Brook Academy’s four-building campus provides students with a variety of spaces for academics, recreation, creativity, and personal growth. School amenities include a gymnasium with a basketball court, weight room, and a recreation area with pool tables.
Our educational team is made up of dedicated professionals who understand the importance of building relationships while providing the individualized instruction and support our students need to succeed.
Team members include:
New Jersey-certified Teachers of Students with Disabilities and Teachers of the Handicapped, with appropriate certifications for the content areas they teach.
Paraprofessional staff who provide additional academic, behavioral, and classroom support to help students successfully participate in the educational program.
